Here she shows off a selection of her designs and explains how she has developed Charlie-Milly Design.
1. Why did you decide to start your own business?
I started my own business as I have 2 children age 7 and 5 who at the time were 5 and 3 and wanted to do something to work around them. I did 3D design at Manchester Metropolitan University where I specialised in ceramics and glass blowing but also I have always loved sewing. I then made a baby bag for a friend who loved it and and I thought maybe I could sell these!! So Charlie-Milly Design started from there.
2. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I love all fabric so just picking out different prints leads to different bags, whether its fun fabrics, florals or vintage.
3. Where can we see more of your products?
At the moment I sell on Not On The High street but hoping to have my own website this year, also any products can be ordered through firstname.lastname@example.org.
4. What makes Charlie-Milly design stand out from the crowd?
I think my bags stand out from the everyday canvas bags as they are bright, bold beautiful and fun!
5. What CleverBaggers products would you recommend and why?
I love the Clever Baggers mini party bags, fantastic cute little bags and perfect for my favour bags. the drawstring kit bags are perfect for my kids kit bags.5. What CleverBaggers products would you recommend and why?
6. What does handmade mean to you?
Handmade means to me something that has been made with extra care and you know you are going to get a product that means something to someone, with my bags it doesn’t matter if I make 10 of the same design each one will be slightly different, that’s the beauty of handmade.
